McStain Neighborhoods Addresses Economic Condition

We see builders every day that continue to operate as if everything is normal. Business as usual.

Just last week we had the president of one of the largest builder’s associations in the Midwest tell us that he has always built homes his way and he isn’t interested in changing the way he does business.

It’s great to see a builder like McStain issue a statement like this that speaks directly to employees, home buyers and market watchers. Tom and Caroline Hoyt, the founders of McStain, clearly understand that this market is different. Things must change.

In their letter they say, “We have been in business for 45 years. The company has endured several average downturns and one serious recession (1986-1990), but nothing compares to the current situation.”

Looking for a noble way to address this situation with your homeowners, employees and vendors?

Try open and honest dialogue.
